TITLE: MY SHADOW STATED LIVING WITHOUT ME.

Title: My Shadow Started Living Without Me

One day, my shadow stopped copying me.

At first, I thought I was imagining things.

But then… it waved at someone.

And they waved back.

Chapter 1: The First Movement

It happened on a normal day.

Or at least… it started that way.

I was walking home in the late afternoon, the sun hanging low behind me. My shadow stretched long across the pavement, thin and familiar—like it had always been.

Like it was supposed to be.

I wasn’t thinking about anything special. Just the usual things—school, messages I hadn’t replied to, life moving in its quiet, predictable way.

Then it moved.

Not because I moved.

Not because the light changed.

It just… moved.

I stopped walking.

My shadow didn’t.

My heart skipped.

Slowly… it took one more step forward.

Then froze.

My breath caught in my throat.

“That’s not possible,” I whispered.

I lifted my hand.

The shadow followed.

Normal.

I lowered it.

Still normal.

I laughed nervously, shaking my head.

“Just my imagination…”

But as I started walking again…

I couldn’t stop watching it.

Chapter 2: Out of Sync

The next day… it happened again.

Only this time… I was ready.

I stood outside in the sunlight, staring at the ground.

Waiting.

Testing.

I moved my arm slowly.

The shadow followed.

Perfect.

I stepped forward.

It matched me.

Still normal.

Relief began to settle in my chest.

Maybe I had imagined it.

Maybe I was just tired.

Then I stopped.

And a second later…

It stopped too.

Late.

My stomach dropped.

“No…”

I stepped again.

It followed instantly.

I froze.

It froze.

Then, slowly…

It tilted its head.

I didn’t.

My breath turned cold.

That’s when I knew—

Something was wrong.

Chapter 3: The First Sign

I tried to ignore it.

I really did.

But ignoring something doesn’t make it go away.

It just makes it stronger.

Days passed.

And my shadow…

Kept changing.

Sometimes it lagged behind.

Sometimes it moved too early.

And sometimes…

It moved when I didn’t move at all.

But the worst moment?

Was when it waved.

I was standing outside a shop, waiting.

Doing nothing.

Then I saw it.

My shadow…

Lifting its arm.

Slowly.

Deliberately.

And waving.

At someone behind me.

I turned quickly.

A man across the street smiled…

And waved back.

My chest tightened.

He wasn’t waving at me.

He was waving at my shadow.

Chapter 4: Seen

That’s when everything changed.

It wasn’t just moving anymore.

It was being seen.

I tested it again the next day.

I stood in a crowded place.

Still.

Completely still.

My shadow didn’t move.

For a moment… I felt safe.

Then someone walked past me.

Paused.

And said—

“Hey.”

I blinked.

“Sorry?”

They weren’t looking at me.

They were looking… down.

At my shadow.

It lifted its hand again.

And waved.

The person smiled.

“See you later,” they said.

Then walked away.

My heart pounded violently.

This wasn’t in my head.

This was real.

And somehow…

My shadow was becoming more real than me.

Chapter 5: Replaced

It didn’t stop there.

It got worse.

People began reacting to it more.

Talking to it.

Smiling at it.

Ignoring me.

At first, I thought it was coincidence.

Then one day…

Someone called out—

“Hey, you!”

I turned.

But they walked past me.

Straight to where my shadow stretched.

“Long time no see,” they said.

My chest tightened.

I looked around.

No one else was there.

“Who are you talking to?” I asked.

They frowned.

“Uh… you?”

I shook my head.

“I’m right here.”

They looked confused.

“No… you’re not.”

Then they pointed.

At the ground.

At my shadow.

And smiled.

Chapter 6: Losing Control

I stopped going outside.

I stopped trusting light.

But you can’t escape your shadow.

It’s always there.

Even in the smallest light.

Even in reflections.

Even in darkness…

It felt like it was still watching me.

One night, I turned on a small lamp.

My shadow stretched across the wall.

Still.

Quiet.

Normal.

Then slowly…

It turned its head.

Toward me.

And smiled.

I couldn’t see its face.

But I felt it.

That moment…

I realized something terrifying—

It wasn’t following me anymore.

It was watching me.

Chapter 7: The Truth

I had to know what it wanted.

So I spoke to it.

“I know you can hear me,” I said quietly.

Silence.

Then…

It moved.

Slowly lifting its arm.

Not copying.

Responding.

My heart pounded.

“What are you?” I whispered.

It didn’t answer.

But it stepped forward.

Away from my feet.

Away from me.

My breath caught.

That shouldn’t be possible.

Shadows don’t leave.

But mine did.

And as it did…

I felt something leave me too.

Something important.

Something… me.

Chapter 8: Becoming It

The more it moved…

The less I felt like myself.

I was tired.

Empty.

Fading.

Meanwhile…

It grew stronger.

Sharper.

More defined.

One day, I passed a mirror.

And stopped.

My reflection looked… dull.

Flat.

Like a shadow.

I touched my face.

Cold.

Distant.

Wrong.

Then I looked down.

My shadow stood confidently.

Solid.

Real.

More real than me.

Chapter 9: The Swap

It happened without warning.

One moment…

I was standing in my room.

The next…

I couldn’t move.

I looked down.

Darkness.

Flat.

Silent.

I tried to scream.

No sound.

No body.

Nothing.

Then I looked up.

And saw…

Myself.

Standing there.

Breathing.

Alive.

Smiling.

But it wasn’t me.

It was my shadow.

And it said—

“Finally.”

Chapter 10: The One Left Behind

Now I understand everything.

I’m still here.

Still watching.

Still existing.

But not like before.

I’m on the ground.

Attached to someone else.

Following their every move.

Copying them.

Like I used to be.

And the person living my life?

They laugh.

They talk.

They live.

Perfectly.

Better than I ever did.

No one notices.

No one questions it.

Because to them…

That’s me.

And sometimes…

When the light hits just right…

I move.

Not because they moved.

But because I wanted to.

And I wonder…

How long it will take…

Before I replace them too.

Dear Readers

Thank you for reading…

Be honest—

are you controlling your shadow… or is it controlling you?
